Florida-based Nakanari’s upcoming ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ RX-63 Artist TEQ release created in collaboration with QUICCS x Martian Toys. Based on his Gundam RX-78-2 inspired Mega TEQ custom created for NYCC 2019, the new production design completes the original concept by extending the mech inspired design from the head through to the legs and feet with a high level of futuristic detail.
Nakanari’s design features the logo of his Mai Hiro art collection on the front of the hoodie and ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ in stylish script on the back. In addition to the enhanced mech detail and the graphic flourishes, it appears that the RX-63 has a subtle Hello Kitty reference, with three diagonal whisker-like lines on each side of the face. The inclusion makes perfect sense given the natural color synergy and the precedence of Hello Kitty x Gundam crossover figures.
The ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ RX-63 Artist TEQ vinyl art toy (6″, 2 arm sets) will be available on TEQ Tuesday (10.6) at 9 AM PDT from Martian Toys for $90. The RX-63 is also currently available via Martian’s ARO (Advanced Release Offer) program.
